From Invisible to Unstoppable"I came into HerStory feeling invisible. I didn't think anyone cared about my story."
When Aisha first walked through the doors of a HerStory gathering in Waco, Texas, she was quiet and withdrawn. She'd moved three times in two years and struggled to feel like she belonged anywhere. Over the course of twelve months, her mentor walked alongside her through academic challenges, family transitions, and a growing faith. Today, Aisha leads a small-group discussion at monthly meetings and is applying to college with a full letter of recommendation from her mentor.

Destiny joined HerStory as a shy fourteen-year-old who dreamed of being a teacher but couldn't imagine it being possible. Through leadership workshops, faith-based mentoring, and a network of women who believed in her, Destiny discovered her voice. She participated in HerStory's Central Texas youth leadership program and now returns as a junior mentor, pouring into younger girls the same way she was poured into. Her story is a testament to the ripple effect of intentional investment in young women.

When Mrs. Johnson signed up to volunteer with HerStory's Waco nonprofit, she expected to give. What she didn't expect was how much she would receive. Her mentee Maya arrived carrying a heavy weight of self-doubt and family hardship. Over two years, their weekly conversations blossomed into a bond built on trust, scripture, and shared laughter. Maya recently graduated high school with honors. Mrs. Johnson says she found her calling in the mentorship ministry right here in Central Texas.
